For any spin you have to make sure you are self sufficient. That’s is have a spare tube, pump, tools, rain gears, food / water etc. If you are under 18 and not a regular on the spin contact the spin leader before had to make sure it ok to turn up.
Friday 28th– Freelap Friday with Al Maxwell. Barnaslingan on the DH bikes, from around 1:00pm. For info call Al on 087 2725999, or call into him in the Bike Rack and spend loads of money. There have been issues with parking in Barnies over the years so try not to park up outside the Coillte entrance as the locals start getting upset if the road gets choked.
Saturday 29th– Handy spin around Kindlestown and GOD on the small bikes. 11:00 at the carpark. Alan Ayling will be there (087 0519723). This is ideal for newbies and people trying to get the fitness back.
Sunday 30th – Spin on the Small bikes from 3 rock to Prince Willies and back. 10:00 at the Blue Light CarPark. We will be pushing the pace on some of the climbs, but we will wait and regroup so as long as you are reasonably fit you can come along and take it at your own pace. There are bail out points if its too much for you. If you have any doubts about it call Sean (0879854445) or Adam (0868467042).
Tuesday 1st – Night Spin on the Small bikes to the 3 Rock. 19:20 in The Blue Light car park. This is a great spin, but its in the dark and thus a little big harder for us to manage so you need good lights and you have to be a competent regular who is able to fend for themselves if they get lost. As with Sunday we will be pushing the pace on some of the climbs, but we will wait and regroup so you can come along and take it at your own pace. If you have any doubts about it call Sean (0879854445) or Adam (0868467042).
If people want to give in membership forms they can do it at any of the spins.
The next full on DH day is going to be the 6th, Cloon again with a mix of digging and riding. We will post more infor on that next week.

Epic DH Champs results
Well now here are the results from the Epic DH champs that were on yesterday. A huge turn out from the new club with lots of ya’s signing up to us yesterday, which was great to see. 58 in total, there are 3 pages in the results, first and second run times, overall positions and Epic DH champs positions. I’ll do a full report very soon. Well done to everyone that was out building and racing over the weekend and congratulations to all the winners. Our fastest member is now Mr. Cummins well done sir. Until next time.
P.S. I don't want to know how many names I spelt wrong, I nearly lost the will to live sorting these out so make the most of them.

EPIC DH Club Champs - Cloon 23 Janurary
Hi Guys,
We have been getting a lot of questions about the club champs this weekend so we thought we would send out a mail with some additional information.
Firstly there are two things happening over the weekend. Firstly we are having a dig day in Cloon on the Saturday, then we are having the Club Champs on the Sunday.
In terms of the dig day, we are looking for a good turnout so we can open up some sections of track. We plan to have a Tuesday night race league there over the summer, and to do so we need a number of track options. Good tracks don’t dig themselves so we need the support of you guys to help make sure it happens. Those of you who have been around a while will know that there have been a number of tracks in Cloon over the years that have fallen into disuse and have been buried under brash during tree felling. The plan is to resurrect some of these sections, if we get through what we plan to we should have almost a completely new track in the place, and the option to mix and match different top and bottom sections.
We will be up there for 10:00. The work will involve mostly clearing brash trimming branches and maybe a small about of shovel work. So the tools of choice would be, good work / gardening gloves, rakes and loppers. There is no harm having the odd shovel or mattock but as I said we won’t be doing that much digging, more raking and clearing. Also if you are new to the whole track building thing, its thirsty work, so bring food and water.
In terms of the champs the plan is as follows:
The format for the day is sign on will be main car park between 9 & 11 no later, practice all morning up until 11.30, Everyone to the top for 12.00 as first rider off at 12.00 on the button, Don’t be late as it will mess the timing up. Second runs start times will be decided on the day depending on numbers. We won’t be announcing which track it is until the morning. If people want to turn up and practice on Saturday they had better bring a shovel with them and put in some digging time, sneaky practice while everyone else is digging won’t go down well.
There is no entry fee, but in terms of who can enter, to win a prise, glory etc, you obviously you have to be a member of epic. You can hand over membership forms etc on Saturday or Sunday. You should have also at least started the licence application process through Cycling Ireland. If you are a newbie who hasn’t been out with us before and is still a bit unsure about what they want to do, then you can certainly turn up and compete but you won’t be in line for prises unless you are a signed up member.
The categories are going to be Juniors (Under 16), Seniors (16 to 35), Ladies, Vets (Now it’s 35+, Bring I.D….).

As you know we will be haing our Club Champs in Cloon on the 23rd. We are also going to have a dig day in Cloon the day before on Saturday the 22nd. There are a few bits that we need to clean up on the existing tracks and in advance of the tuesday night races we have planned for the summer we wanted to open up some new sections to give ourselves more options for cources.

Club DH Champs 23rd of January
Right so, on Sunday the 23rd of January we are going to hold the club DH Champs in Cloon, (technically they are the 2010 champs but hay). To do this you’ll need to be a signed up club member, (see ‘Joining Epic DH’) and be in the process of getting your licence. This is open to all club members from either discipline so either XC, DH, or any other form out there. It will be a very relaxed day of racing so come out and have some craic. The categories are going to be Juniors (Under 16), Seniors (16 to 35), Ladies, Vets (Now it’s 35+, Bring I.D….) The format for the day is sign on with me in the main car park before 11.00 no later, practice all morning up until 11.30, Everyone to the top for 12.00 as first rider off at 12.00 on the button, Don’t be late as it will mess the timing up. Second runs start times will be decided on the day depending on numbers. There will be some prizes and stuff. See you all there.

Saturday the 8th of January spin
The good fella Bruce will be doing his easier pace spin from the Blue light car park at 10.00 this Saturday. This is an ideal spin for anyone that feels they are a bit off the pace for the Tuesday and Sunday spins or for anyone that's just trying to get back up to pace. Text him if you're interested in going, O868215321.
Sunday the 9th Spin
For this Sundays xc/dh training spin we are heading to Djouce for 10.00. This is still our 1st week of the 4 week training program so the pace won't be to the max, and we'll use our new spin rules if people aren't getting enough out of it so come on out and have a go, should cater for all once you have some bike skills.
